The concept design for this mixed-use development was based on the feasibility study findings carried out prior to the design work. The planning, land use, zoning, transport and infrastructure constraints were thoroughly analysed and taken into account. The 20,000-seat stadium was placed in the wider part of the site leaving sufficient space around the buildings for public access and regress. The Sports Centre and Hotels were arranged on either side of the plot providing adequate frontage for public access and transport circulations and also addressing the visual and contextual aspects of its immediate surroundings. The development favourably opens up from all sides, complementing and enhancing the riverside views.
